Our mission is to build the finest catchers and young men in Southern California. The Core Catching program provides the opportunity for youth to develop at the catching position while also building skills necessary to be successful in the classroom, in society and life. Southern California is one of the most competitive baseball regions in the world. Core Catchers are held to high standards and are taught the work ethic and mental preparation necessary to take their game to the next level. Core Catching training and instruction is led by former and current professional catchers.
Core Catching is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Core Catching clinics will cover all aspects of the position including receiving, blocking, proper positioning, throw downs, and hard physical condition that catchers need to build endurance. Participants will also be taught the mental aspects of the position and how to become a leader on the field. Currently clinics are held weekly on Saturdays.
Core Catching camps are designed to provide an intensive workout for catchers aspiring to take their skills to the next level. Catchers will workout in stations designed to sharpen their skill sets at all aspects of the position. Participants will also be taught the mental aspects of the position and how to become a leader on the field. Our camps are typically multiple days of training and scheduled during school breaks.
Coach Brian Bennett (BB) is available for individual catching and batting lessons. BB can also provide catching and batting instruction for travel, Little League, and PONY League teams.
